Production Write-offs/Adjustments Guide

Payment day of service 5% – when patient pays in full at the time of scheduling write off the 5%

Re-Do Completed Dentistry – when a procedure has failed, and Dr. decides to re-do the procedure as a courtesy at no cost to the patient

Traded Services – when a patient gets their dentistry paid for by another service that they offer like shoveling snow, lawn moving, concrete work, etc.

Premium Smiles Discount – when a patient is on Premium smiles, all covered services for that year are written off because they have been prepaid

Donated Dental Dr. Mark’s choice – when

Write off per Dr. Giang – when Dr. Giang decides to write off a procedure

Write off per Dr. Mark – when Dr. Mark decides to write off a procedure

Employee Discount – discount a team member gets

Timely Filing – when an insurance claim is denied due to timely filing

Incorrect Billing – when our office makes a mistake on billing, and we decide not to bill the patient

Frequency – when a procedure is denied due to frequency, and we decide not to bill the patient

Invisalign WO per Dr. Bryant – – used for all misc. procedures that are covered under the one initial fee

Bad Debt – when we write off the procedure because we are sending to collections or deem it is uncollectible

Insurance Issue – when our office decides to write off a procedure because of insurance and it is not the patient’s fault

Office Courtesy – X-rays – when our office decides to write of xrays that are not covered by the patient’s insurance and that we did not discuss the cost beforehand
